In 2024, Mode Energy undertook a critical project to design and install a containerised power solution for Nzara Hospital, a remote 160-bed hospital in South Sudan. This project involved upgrading an existing system to create a fully autonomous, 3-phase, off-grid power solution capable of providing 100% of the power required to run the hospital, including its operating theatre, blood bank, and specialist clinics. Despite the challenges posed by the politically unstable and remote location, Mode Energy volunteers successfully installed the system on-site.
